Cruising can be a peaceful and serene experience. It's especially so for those of us who aren't steering or handling the lines.

Sheep grazing along the river. |
We wanted to visit Chateau de Ray-sur-Saone. Unfortunately we were given the wrong hours to see the interior of the Chateau. We still enjoyed walking around the grounds. We always like viewing what is left of an original estate and trying to imagine what it was like in its prime
The Chateau de Ray-sur-Saone is an ancient castle dating from the tenth century, rebuilt in traditional style in the eighteenth century, located in Ray-sur-Saone in Burgundy. The castle was heavily damaged in 1642 during the 10 year war. It was rebuilt at the end of the 17th century on the foundations of the original medieval fortress.

We walked in the forest next to the Chateau.

Tom in the forest. |
The chateau had a dog cemetery.

The dog cemetery was sweet. |

One big bull next to the chateau. |
The views from the chateau grounds were spectacular.

We drink a lot of ice tea during the summer. |
When we go for a walk we never know what we are going to see.

A small windmill. |
We see boats of all sizes and shapes out cruising.
