The great adventure begins! Shortly we leave for Israel and then Europe. Israel is for Tom to fill in needed details for his new novel "When Sones Speak." Since he has never been to Israel this should be a wonderful experience. I can't wait for the final leg of our trip. The idea that we may finally have a barge again is exciting. Tom has researched extensively what barges are on the market. Our first two choices sold. Another two options are spectacular but way beyond our budget. I am amazed at how few possibilities there are that might meet our needs. J------ is now our first choice. She could work out well for us. We will go to Belgium to see her and then spend the night in Maastricht, Holland. I wish we had time for me to go shopping. I fondly remember Maastricht where I had my hair done and bought a pair of comfortable boots. Anyway, the next morning we are up early to drive to Le Havre to visit another boat. This barge has two cabins sharing one bathroom. That may not work for us. BUT I am intrigued with the idea of converting the original owners cabin into our living quarters. Guests can share the one bathroom. We won't know until we check everything out. Originally Tom wasn't interested in the second barge because of the lack of crews quarters and having only one head. He is willing to look at it because he doesn't want our boat broker to think we only have one option.
